Oliver Zhang

Oliver Zhang is the co-founder and Managing Director of the Center for AI Safety (CAIS), a research nonprofit dedicated to reducing societal-scale risks from AI. Previously, Oliver co-founded the MATS program, which has mentored hundreds of early-career researchers now working on AI safety at organizations such as Anthropic, DeepMind, the UK AI Safety Institute, and OpenAI. Oliver studied Computer Science at Stanford and lives in San Francisco.
